Is online dating safe?

Yes is the only fair answer, but you must be aware of the potential dangers that come with internet dating.

This feature gives you better control and you will not be constantly faced with emails from undesirables.

2) Contacting a prospective date

Use the agencies online messaging service rather than your personal email account. This way you can easily remove someone from your account if you need to. Never give out your personal information like, home address, telephone number or personal email until you are sure that you want to be in long term contact with the person. Use your own judgment, but don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by a charming email. Wait to meet them in person.

3) Going on the first date

Having joined a reputable agency and used the online facilities to arrange a date, make sure you keep your security conscious ways going. Meet in a neutral place, rather than at respective homes. This makes it much easier to get out of the situation if it is not going as planned.

Perhaps make it a double date with a friend as a backup; you can always ditch your mate if it’s going well!
